The D.O. Arabako Txakolina was established in 2001 and is geographically limited to the Ayala Region, which is made up of 5 municipalities: Aiara, Artziniega, Amurrio, Laudio and Orozko.
This region is in the northern area to whose climate the native varieties such as Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza are perfectly adapted.
Therefore, the variety of Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratie are the main varieties in the Arabako Txakolina.
Around 600,000 liters are produced throughout the denomination.
